All our doors and windows have been submitted to the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS for short!) to gain the all important Industry standard PAS 24 accreditation, this involves a rigorous testing procedure at their independent testing facility. This ensures that the product meets and gains the PAS 24 - Part of The British Standard stable of excellence and minimum security requirements (previously the BS7950) and assesses the security performance of the glazing for windows and external doors against possible forced entry and intrusion by an unwanted 'visitor'. Whether you live in a small or large property and regardless of where your home is situated within your neighbourhood even with the best neighbours in the world, we all worry over the security of our homes. They are our nests, where we raise our families and need to be as secure as we can possibly make them with particular emphasis when it comes to windows, doors, lanterns and bifold doors.
These are the weak points for any house and can become the entry points of any unwanted 'visitor'. Our industry has responded with the introduction of the PAS 24 (2012) Security Standard, this is the line in the sand of the very minimum basic security requirements as dictated by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS for short!) So the door, window and lantern manufacturer submits their product and is granted this 'fit for purpose' standard. These measures have proven to be so effective in stopping intruders that the Police Service has had to plan differently when they are executing a warrant and making an arrest by forcing entry to the house of a suspect. Comforting information indeed and should go a long way to allaying any fears and worries you may have over the security of your home.
This is the very reason why we specialise in bifold security to ensure a force of entry is not possible other than through extreme instances which are almost impossible to prevent. As a company, we pay particular attention to security across all our product range and truly believe that we sell the most secure and highly tested bifold door solution on the market and we welcome you to put this to the test by visiting our showroom in Colchester, Essex.

Installation of your bifold doors when installed by us we will always use professional fitters, and at least one of our team members will be a carpenter. Our installation teams have at least two members but sometimes three. Each team know exactly what is expected of them, they install the doors to a high standard, and always leave the property clean and tidy.
Bifolding doors are factory assembled
Every door is fully assembled and set up in one of our auto square assembly jigs. These jigs ensure the doors are fully operational before they are passed to despatch. The doors are completed in an upright position and every door checked to make sure it works correctly.
Supply Only Bifold Doors
Many of our clients choose to save the installation cost and install the bifolding doors themselves this can be carried out by any competent DIY person or builder. Full installation instructions are provided with every supply only order.
Supply Only Installations
Competent DIY person or builder can install our bifolding doors. We provide comprehensive installation instructions. Our installation managers or surveyors are available to help with telephone support should you need it.
Quality control of bifold doors
When production has been completed before the bifold is removed from the jig a quality control inspection is carried out by a different employee who checks for ten operational functions and fifteen quality items. Once passed the order is checked to see how the client or surveyor wants the doors delivered. Around seventy per cent of our bifolding doors are delivered complete ready for installation. The balance of thirty per cent have the doors removed and the frame taken apart. The reason for flat packing the frame is generally because of limited access to the premises or risk of damage because the doors are simply too big to man handle. When released from quality control they are wrapped under the supervision of the quality inspector ensuring there preparation for transit. Quality control staff remain in control of the doors in the storage area until they are loaded on the vehicle ready to leave our factory. This ensures all parts are loaded together and none of the product is damaged. The process reduces the risk of incomplete deliveries or damaged goods. Quality control staff don’t load the vehicle they merely supervise the correct handling, loading and securing the load ready for delivery.
Bifolding door installation day
Our installation team will arrive at the same time as the delivery driver. The goods are unloaded and made ready for installation. The very first thing done by the fitter is to inspect the opening and check the dimensions to ensure a successful installation. The fitter will level the base brickwork setting the height to ensure the finished floor height is correct. These doors have to be installed level. When the base is level the cill if required is laid and the frame is set onto the brickwork. The frame is then fixed level and square using the correct length direct fixings. After the doors is set-up and glazed the doors will be operated a few times, then when the fitter is happy with the set-up he will use fixing foam to fill any spaces he feels necessary. This fixing foam is never used to fix the frame only to fill any larger gaps. The doors are always fixed using direct fixings and metal fixing screws into the head of the lintel. We use fixing foam because it does not expand too much and is more controllable it also cures a little quicker. You must make sure no foam contacts any visible part of a door as it will mark the finished product. The door is then sealed around the perimeter. The fitters will then ask you if you want them to remove the protective tape. You will need to inspect the door prior to them leaving site as any damage to the doors post installation will not be accepted as our liability.
